Cascades Converting Center Recovering from Roof Collapse

Kingsey Falls, Quebec, Canada, 11 March 2008 -– Management of the Cascades Specialty Products Group confirms that it has implemented an emergency plan to compensate for the delays caused by the collapse of a roof section at its printed papers converting center in Saint-Jérôme.

Until production can return to normal, the company has entrusted its die-cutting operations to subcontractors and is contacting its customers to inform and reassure them of the proposed solutions to ensure their continued satisfaction.

The damage did not affect the comapny's major inventories of converted products which will allow Cascades to continue serving its customers. The damage did not cause any injuries and the manufacturing unit was not affected. Despite regular maintenance, the roof was not able to hold up to recent weather conditions. Repairs are estimated to take place over several weeks and are already underway.
