Weyerhaeuser Closes Tree Farms to Visitors During Fire Season


Federal Way, Washington, USA, 28 July 2009 Due to the extremely high fire danger brought on by mid-summer 100 degree F. weather, Weyerhaeuser Company is closing all tree farms to public access in Oregon and Washington. Visitors planning a trip to Weyerhaeuser forestlands in Oregon and Washington are reminded to call the company’s statewide, toll-free telephone numbers before heading out to the woods.

In Washington, tree farms in the Vail, Aberdeen, Raymond, and St. Helens operating areas will be indefinitely closed to public recreational access. In Oregon, tree farms in the North Coast, North Willamette Valley, South Willamette Valley, Springfield, and Coos Bay operating areas will be indefinitely closed to public recreational access.
