West Fraser Curtails Sawmill Production in British Columbia


Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, 15 June 2009 -- West Fraser today announced additional lumber production curtailments at three of its British Columbia sawmills in response to continuing weak markets.

West Fraser intends to implement market-related curtailments at each of its Houston, 100 Mile, and Chasm sawmills. Curtailments will be implemented by shutdowns of the three facilities for at least two weeks, commencing 29 June 2009. Restarting operations is dependent upon market conditions, which will be reviewed weekly.
