Voith Paper Receives Order from Zhumadianshi Baiyun Paper in China


Heidenheim, Germany, 13 November 2009 -- At the end of September, Zhumadianshi Baiyun Paper Co. Limited awarded Voith Paper an order for the delivery of a complete paper machine for the production of copy and offset papers. The location for the new PM is Zhumadian in China, situated approximately 900 km southwest of Beijing. The start-up of PM 8 is expected to take place in April 2011.

The new paper machine, Baiyun PM 8, with a wire width of 5850 mm, is designed for a maximum speed of 1400 m/min. The PM 8 will produce papers in a basis weight range from 60 to 120 g/m² and have a maximum output of 800 tons/day. The annual production capacity of the machine is more than 200,000 tons. The stock for the production line is planned to be 15% straw pulp.

The scope of supply inc;udes a MasterJet F headbox with ModuleJet dilution water control, a forming section with DuoFormer D, a Tandem-NipcoFlex Press, a TopDuoRun predryer section, a SpeedSizer AT, a CombiDuoRun after-dryer section, a 1x2 EcoSoft calender, a MasterReel, and a VariFit winder. Machine clothing, roll covers, doctor blades, and engineering work required for the project also are included in the scope of supply.

Moreover, the paper mill Zhumadianshi Baiyun Paper decided on a Voith Automation package. A quality management system, and a machine and technology monitoring system, a camera and an information system are an integral part of the order.

Zhumadianshi Baiyun Paper Co. Limited was formed in 1999 and has been part of the Henan Investment Group (HIG) since 2003. In addition to Baiyun Paper, the paper sector of HIG includes the Puyang Longfeng and Jiaozuo Runfeng paper mills. The Baiyun paper mill will produce 100,000 tons/year of copy paper and 50,000 tons/year of straw pulp.
