The Final Word by Steve Roush

Ladies and gentlemen, since we spoke last month, it is being reported that construction sites in 2050 will look much different than what we see today. This is according to a new paper by Balfour Beatty.

Balfour Beatty predicts that by then, construction sites will be human-free, with robots and other remote-controlled machines taking up existing labor tasks, while new materials and techniques will be used to improve safety and efficiency, while simultaneously reducing costs.

They write, "Today this vision may seem far-fetched. But consider the complex tasks performed by robots in a modern factory and it is not so hard to imagine such a future for the construction site. Indeed, in many areas of life the robots are not coming, they are already here."
