The Final Word by Jim Thompson

Unlike years gone by, where our industry problems were somewhat internal (albeit, market driven) when printing and writing and newsprint were exiting the stage, our grade issues seem pretty well under control these days.

That is not to say more P&W is not shutting down as we speak, but the decisions as to what to do seem to be settled matters. But there are always dangers, and the ones lurking in 2012 seem to be our old nemesis, energy, and a new one: currency instability.

I suspect in 2012, the acumen of our respective companies' treasury departments, especially if you are involved in exporting or importing, will be where success is measured.
