In this issue of Disconnected Comparisons, we evaluate Greif, Inc. (GEF) and Packaging Corporation of America (PKG).

The attached graph indexes these companies’ stock values and the PM40 to their 04 January 2002 values. A USD 100 investment in GEF on that date would have been worth USD 394.30 on 25 April 2008; a USD 100 investment in PKG on 04 January 2002 would have been worth USD 122.92 on 25 April 2008; and a USD 100 investment in an equal weight of the PM40 on 04 January 2002 would have been worth USD 120.79 on 25 April 2008.
