Corrugated Packaging Plant Opens in Russia


Chelyabinsk, Russia 23 Aug 2013 -- PM Packaging is expanding its corrugated packaging capacities to better serve customers industrial customers in Russia. Ulyanovsk plant to come online in spring 2014.

Moscow-based corrugated board and packaging manufacturer Paper Modern Packaging (PM Packaging) has officially opened its new corrugated packaging plant in Chelyabinsk. The official inauguration ceremony was held on 9 August, the company reported.

Once full production has been reached, Chelyabinsk facility will produce 180 million m² per year of two-, three, and five-layer corrugated board packaging and provide jobs for 200 people, according to PM Packaging. It will supply customers from the food, cosmetics, chemical and building materials industries.

Currently, PM Packaging is building another 180 million m² corrugated packaging facility in Russia’s Ulyanovsk region. The $40m investment is said to create 180 jobs. Production at the Ulyanovsk packaging plant is expected to kick off next spring. PM Packaging announced on 23 August it has signed the German company BHS Corrugated to supply and install a new corrugator at the site.
