Billerud Korsnäs Resumes SC Fluting Operations in Gruvön
Print

Solnan, Sweden 23 May 2017 -- Production of semi-chemical pulp and fluting has been down since the breakdown of the digester on 16 May.

Billerud Korsnäs has resumed production of semi-chemical pulp and fluting at its pulp and paper mill in Gruvön in Sweden. Production of SC fluting on PM 6 had to be suspended following a break down of a digester in the pulp line that was supplying semi-chemical pulp to the machine.

According to Billerud Korsnäs, the problem has now been resolved. The company estimates the impact on EBITDA for the breakdown to approximately SEK25m after compensation from insurance.

"The impact of the breakdown could be limited thanks to a very efficient work in the mill, and we could start up production relatively quickly. Now we have to limit the indirect damage in the form of missing deliveries and customer relations," said Per Lindberg, CEO of Billerud Korsnäs.
