Andritz to Supply Complete Tissue Machine and Process Technologies to Shandong Chenming Paper Holdings, China



Graz, Austria, 20 July 2009 -- International technology Group Andritz has been awarded major orders by Shandong Chenming Paper Holdings – one of the largest pulp and paper producers in China.

 

Andritz Pulp & Paper will deliver to Shouguang Meilun Paper Co., Ltd., a leading Chinese tissue producer and a company of the Chenming Group, a 5.6 m wide tissue machine, including stock preparation and approach flow systems. The tissue machine, with a maximum design speed of 2000 m/min, is targeted for start-up at the end of 2010.

 

Key components of the machine are an 18-foot Yankee dryer, a two-layer headbox, shoe press, advanced linear reel, and an automation system.

 

In addition, Andritz has been awarded major orders by Shandong Chenming Paper Holdings for its mill in the Guangdong Province. The total value of the orders is approximately EUR 160 million.

 

Andritz Pulp & Paper will supply all process technologies for a 700,000 tons/year bleached hardwood kraft greenfield pulp mill for Zhanjiang Chenming Pulp & Paper Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of Shandong Chenming Paper. The scope of supply comprises the wood process systems, the fiberline (cooking, washing, screening and bleaching systems), the pulp drying and bale finishing plant, and the chemical recovery island (evaporation plant, recovery boiler, and recausticizing plant with lime kiln). In addition, Andritz will supply the complete stock preparation and approach flow system for a fine paper machine to be installed at the same mill. The pulp mill is targeted for start-up in mid-2011.

 

To a large extent Andritz Technologies China Ltd. in Foshan, Guangdong Province, will be responsible for procurement and manufacturing of components and equipment for the complete Andritz scope.
